This one-of-a-kind poster began as a personal passion of mine back in 1997 (that's me in the photo standing next to the poster...click on the image to enlarge). When I moved to New York City from Washington DC, I started looking for an aerial photo of my favorite city landmark, Central Park. For 2 years I searched every gallery, frame shop and art store in New York City and the surrounding areas. I came to the conclusion that the photo did not exist, and that I would have to create it myself. Finally, after careful planning, preparation and patience, I got the photo I wanted and created the poster.

In case you were wondering, this is not a satellite image.
This photo was taken from a professionally equipped plane, specializing in aerial photography. After months of failed attempts due to weather conditions, the perfect shot was taken on October 28th, 2000 from an altitude of 12,500 feet.

The camera used for this photo is the highest quality photographic equipment available, which is why the image has so much detail. You can literally see the cars on the streets. For a closer look, click here.
